The Water Project
Karimu is all of 7 and lives with her ailing mother and 15 year old brother Abasi, the only breadwinner of her family. Of late, Abasi has not been well, diagnosed with Hepatitis A. Everyday Karimu and her mother walk miles to fill up their battered, bright yellow cans with liquid that resembles much like the coffee you have every morning. They call it water.
There is a growing human tragedy not very far from you. It kills more than 5 million people each year, 10 times the number of those killed in wars.
An average glass of water consumed by a ten year old, once during the day, contains about 2-3 million pathogens which can cause over 650 different diseases. This is what a million people have had to consume for life.
At CHOOSELIFE, we hope to transform this situation and make a difference. Join us in this campaign to provide clean water and most of all transform living conditions for the unfortunate. Let’s choose life, one at a time.
